Childcare in Birstall

The Bunnies room is our nursery’s baby room, where we lovingly care for our youngest children until they become confident walkers and are ready to transition to the next room, typically around 17 months. Our room is a hub of early exploration and discovery, perfectly tailored to suit our babies' needs.

At this age, our babies love messy play as they begin to explore their senses. They delight in the sensation and texture of materials like cereal as they joyfully tip, pour, and crunch it.

What truly makes our room special is the homely atmosphere we create. Many parents have remarked on the inviting feel, thanks to the presence of familiar home furniture such as a sofa, cots, and rugs. We take pride in mirroring the children's routines from home and showering them with an abundance of cuddles.

To ensure the room is welcoming to our babies, we pay careful attention to their perspective. Everything is intentionally placed at their height, from tables to toys and activities. We create cozy areas where they can retreat and offer a diverse range of stimulating materials that cater to each child's unique interests.

Parent involvement and communication are essential to us. We keep parents informed by sending out a daily morning post, showcasing the exciting activities we have prepared for the day.

We also value their input and support the integration of new experiences from home into our nursery environment. By fostering this partnership, we create a collaborative atmosphere where parents feel involved and well-informed about their child's time in our care.

Welcome to our Ducklings room, where we care for toddlers aged one and a half to two and a half years.

Our room is a hive of excitement, offering engaging activities such as soft play, climbing frames, and messy play. Our popular home corner is filled with pots and pans and other familiar items, sparking imaginative roleplay.

As a staff team, we work hard to showcase exceptional teamwork to the children, demonstrating a harmonious environment that positively influences the children's social development as they start to make friends.

We encourage independence by introducing milestones like using a fork during mealtimes and supporting children to pour their own drinks. We also enjoy exciting outings away from the nursery, creating memorable experiences.
From the moment they enter, our toddlers are welcomed with smiles. Weekly themes keep them excited about new adventures throughout their day. We encourage parental involvement to create a partnership in their child’s learning.

Welcome to the Little Owls room, where we provide care for children aged two and a half to three years.

Our room is filled with laughter and exploration, as our little ones engage in a variety of favourite activities. They eagerly dive into the world of messy play, indulging in rice, shaving foam, water, sand, cornflour, cereals, and spaghetti. Alongside sensory learning, we develop a love for storytelling, with cozy reading sessions that spark their imagination. Their curious minds thrive as we connect magnets, express creativity through diverse drawing materials, and enjoy the magical transformation of dress-up play.

What sets our room apart is our dedication to fostering independence and supporting the children with toilet training. We work hard each day to create warm and inclusive environment where every child feels valued. From the moment they enter, we greet them with big smiles and comforting cuddles whenever needed. Our walls proudly showcase vibrant display boards adorned with the children's own artwork, celebrating their accomplishments and fostering a sense of belonging.

In the Little Owls room, each day brings new discoveries and exciting learning opportunities. The children love the diverse themes we explore each week, as they broaden their knowledge about new topics such as pirates, easter or sports.

As parents play an integral role in their child's development, we actively involve them in our classroom activities. We keep them informed and engaged through Famly, our nursery app, where we share messages and pictures along with regular observations. Parents love the paintings and drawings their child creates, and we collaborate by discussing next steps every seven weeks, ensuring we work together to achieve their child's goals. Additionally, face-to-face parent evenings and handovers during collection provide the perfect platform to exchange insights about their child's day and progress.

In our Big Owls room, we help prepare our pre-schoolers for their exciting journey to primary school.

Our room is a bustling hub of activities, including imaginative role play, cooking adventures, dressing up, dancing, and plenty of messy play. We help build each child’s confidence and independence by encouraging them to choose what they want to play with. However, we also start to add more structure to the day to prepare the children for life at primary school.

We take pride in nurturing their school readiness, by developing their independence and building strong communication skills through engaging interactions and conversations. We help prepare them for what primary school will be like, through roleplay and visits from reception class teachers.

We create captivating learning experiences, based around different themes each week to ignite their curiosity and create a love for learning.

We keep parents involved through our Famly app with morning posts about what we’ll be doing each day. Parents also receive weekly observations and face-to-face communication during parents' evenings and handovers. Together with parents, we lay the foundation for a successful transition to primary school, where they will continue to flourish.
